Vintage Ride (“we”, “us”, or “our”) runs vintage car rentals, chauffeur and self-drive tours, and private hires from Weligama on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and look after personal information when you use vintageride.lk, create an account, or book a ride.

By using our website or sending a booking, you agree to the practices described here. If you book on behalf of other guests, please make sure they know we will use their details for that booking.

We collect information you give us, and a smaller amount of technical information collected automatically when you browse the site.

• Identity and contact details you enter when booking, creating an account, or writing to us: name, email address, WhatsApp or phone number, and passport or other identity number.
• Booking details: chosen vehicle, tour or custom route, date and time, passenger count, add-ons, and any notes you add for weddings, photoshoots, or other events.
• Self-drive details: whether you hold a licence, and the driving-licence or International Driving Permit information or file you upload so we can confirm you may drive.
• Account details: the email and password you use to sign in. We store passwords in a protected form and cannot read them back.
• Payment details needed to take payment. Card payments are handled by our payment gateway, PayHere. We do not store your full card number or CVV. We may keep the card brand, the last four digits, the expiry date, and the name on the card with your booking. If you pay by bank transfer or cash, we keep a record of the method and payment status.
• Messages you send by email, WhatsApp, the contact form, or our booking tools.
• Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected through server logs, sign-in sessions, and cookies.

We use this information to run Vintage Ride and to look after your booking.

• To take, confirm, and carry out bookings, including allocating a vehicle, driver, or road captain and meeting you at the agreed time.
• To check self-drive eligibility against your licence and International Driving Permit.
• To take payment, issue receipts, and handle cancellations or refunds.
• To contact you about your booking by email or WhatsApp, answer questions, and provide support during operating hours.
• To keep your account secure and remember your booking history.
• To improve the website, the fleet information, and the way bookings work.
• To detect fraud, unauthorised use, and abuse of the site or the vehicles.
• To meet legal, tax, and insurance record-keeping duties.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for their own marketing. We share it only in these cases:

• Trusted service providers who help us operate: PayHere for card payments; Google Firebase for accounts, booking records, and file storage; and email or messaging services we use to reach you. They may use the information only to perform those services for us.
• People needed to deliver the booking, such as a chauffeur or road captain assigned to your ride, and only the details they need for that job.
• Insurers, professional advisers, or authorities when we must do so by law, to respond to a valid legal request, to handle a claim, or to protect guests, staff, or the vehicles.
• A buyer of the business, if Vintage Ride is sold or reorganised, in which case this policy would still apply to your information unless you are told otherwise.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. Card data is processed by PayHere rather than stored in full on our systems.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Please use a unique password for your account and contact us promptly if you think your account has been misused.

We use cookies and similar technologies so the site can keep you signed in, remember a booking session, and understand how the pages are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Some features, including sign-in and checkout, may not work if you do.

We keep booking and account information for as long as your account is active and for as long as we need it to complete the ride, handle refunds or disputes, and meet tax, insurance, and legal duties. Licence images and identity details are kept only for verification and for a reasonable period after the booking in case of a claim.

You can ask us to correct contact details, update your account, or tell you what booking information we hold. You can also ask us to delete information we no longer need for a booking, a legal duty, or an unresolved claim. Write to us using the details below.

Our website is aimed at adults booking a ride. You must be at least 18 to create an account or place a booking. A parent or guardian may include children as passengers. We do not knowingly collect account information from children.

We may update this policy when our services or legal duties change. The new version will be posted on this page with a revised date. The current version was last updated on 23 September 2026. Please check this page from time to time. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
